South Africa was the key exporting country with an export of about X tons, which recorded X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Tanzania (X tons), Zambia (X tons) and Lesotho (X tons), together constituting a X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Mauritius (X tons) and Mozambique (X tons) - together made up X% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2023, average annual rates of growth with regard to cereal flour exports from South Africa stood at X%. At the same time, Lesotho (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Lesotho emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in SADC, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. Zambia and Tanzania experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Mauritius (X%) and Mozambique (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In value terms, cereal flour imports shrank slightly to $X in 2023. Overall, imports, however, showed a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Angola (X tons), Madagascar (X tons), Mozambique (X tons), Democratic Republic of the Congo (X tons) and Lesotho (X tons) represented roughly X% of total imports in 2023. South Africa (X tons) took a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Zimbabwe (X%).

From 2012 to 2023, the biggest increases were recorded for Mozambique (with a CAGR of X%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
