Chocolate Market Size in Romania

The revenue of the chocolate market in Romania amounted to $X in 2018, picking up by X% against the previous year. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, chocolate exports reached their peak figure in 2018 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Exports by Country

Bulgaria (X tonnes) was the main destination for chocolate exports from Romania, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, chocolate exports to Bulgaria exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Italy (X tonnes), fivefold. Germany (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual growth rate of volume to Bulgaria totaled +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (+X% per year) and Germany (+X% per year).

In general, the export price indicated a slight increase from 2007 to 2018: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last eleven years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the average export price increased by X% year-to-year. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, chocolate imports attained their maximum in 2018 and are expected to retain its growth in the immediate term.
