Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +19.4% from 2012-2021. Germany experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Malaysia (-1.9%), Italy (-3.9%) and South Korea (-4.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (+8.4 p.p.), Vietnam (+4.5 p.p.) and Thailand (+2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while Italy and South Korea saw its share reduced by -2% and -4.9% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China amounted to +6.0%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Germany (-0.0% per year) and South Korea (-4.0% per year).
