Matches Market Size in Pakistan

Afghanistan (X tonnes) was the main destination for matches exports from Pakistan, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, matches exports to Afghanistan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Democratic Republic of the Congo (X tonnes), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Sudan (X tonnes), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Afghanistan totaled -X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Democratic Republic of the Congo (-X% per year) and Sudan (+X% per year).

In value terms, Afghanistan ($X) remains the key foreign market for matches exports from Pakistan, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Democratic Republic of the Congo ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Sudan, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Afghanistan was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Democratic Republic of the Congo (+X% per year) and Sudan (+X% per year).

In 2020, the average matches export price amounted to $X per tonne, increasing by X% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated mild growth from 2007 to 2020: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Romania, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2020, supplies from abroad of matches decreased by -X% to X kg for the first time since 2015, thus ending a four-year rising trend. In general, imports showed a significant decrease.
