Australia (X units), the United States (X units) and Fiji (X units) were the main destinations of headphone exports from New Zealand, together comprising X% of total exports. French Polynesia, Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong SAR and New Caledonia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by French Polynesia (with a CAGR of +X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for headphone exported from New Zealand were Australia ($X), the United States ($X) and Fiji ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports. These countries were followed by French Polynesia, Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong SAR and New Caledonia, which together accounted for a further X terms of the main countries of destination, French Polynesia, with a CAGR of +X%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average headphone export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, falling by -X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a modest expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of X%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2021, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In 2021, the countries with the highest prices were New Caledonia ($X per unit) and Papua New Guinea ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to the United States ($X per unit) and Australia ($X per unit) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Australia (+X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into New Zealand
In 2021, supplies from abroad of headphones increased by X% to X units, rising for the fifth consecutive year after two years of decline. Overall, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +X% against 2016 indices. In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest headphone supplier to New Zealand, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, headphone imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Vietnam (X units), sixfold.
