In value terms, Libya ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for safety fuses, detonating fuses and electric detonators exports from Morocco, comprising 80% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Mauritania ($X), with a 16% share of total exports. It was followed by Guinea, with a 3.8% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Libya stood at -20.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Mauritania (-38.9% per year) and Guinea (-41.9% per year).

Imports into Morocco
After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of safety fuses, detonating fuses and electric detonators decreased by -38.4% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 95% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2020, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, fuse and detonator imports dropped notably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 28% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2020, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.

Bosnia and Herzegovina (X tons), France (X tons) and Portugal (X tons) were the main suppliers of fuse and detonator imports to Morocco, with a combined 53% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Bosnia and Herzegovina (with a CAGR of +42.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the price for Portugal ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
