Transport Container Market Size in MENA

In 2022, the MENA's transport container market decreased by X% to $X for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Overall, consumption, however, saw a perceptible curtailment. In 2022, the United Arab Emirates (X units) represented the key exporter of transport containers, achieving X% of total exports. The following exporters - Bahrain (X units) and Israel (X units) - each accounted for a X% share of total exports.

The United Arab Emirates was also the fastest-growing in terms of the transport containers exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Bahrain (X%), Tunisia (X%) and Turkey (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Israel (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In 2022, the export price in MENA amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of X% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a deep contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per unit), while Tunisia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of transport containers, when their volume decreased by X% to X units. In general, imports, however, recorded a modest expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, transport container imports dropped remarkably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a perceptible expansion. The purchases of the four major importers of transport containers, namely Turkey, Bahrain, Israel and the United Arab Emirates, represented more than two-thirds of total import. It was distantly followed by Qatar (X units), making up a X% share of total imports. The following importers - Iraq (X units), Lebanon (X units) and Oman (X units) - each resulted at a X% share of total imports.
