Lubricant Additives Market Size in Malaysia

In value terms, lubricant additives exports shrank sharply to $X in 2019. In general, exports, however, enjoyed temperate growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2010 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Exports peaked at $X in 2018, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

China (X tonnes) was the main destination for lubricant additives exports from Malaysia, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, lubricant additives exports to China exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Singapore (X tonnes), sevenfold. Indonesia (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2019, the average annual growth rate of volume to China stood at +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Singapore (-X% per year) and Indonesia (+X% per year).

The average lubricant additives export price stood at $X per tonne in 2019, with a decrease of -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2009 an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, average export prices hit record highs at $X per tonne in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2019, export prices failed to regain the momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2019, the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to China ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
