Cottonseed Market Size in Kyrgyzstan

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of exports, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Australia, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the U.S. ($X), Australia ($X) and Greece ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2018, together accounting for X% of total exports.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Australia recorded the highest growth rate of exports, over the last eleven-year period, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2018, the cottonseed export price in Kyrgyzstan amounted to $X per tonne, standing approx. at the previous year. In general, the cottonseed export price, however, continues to indicate a mild slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the export price increased by X% year-to-year. In that year, the export prices for cottonseed reached their peak level of $X per tonne. From 2017 to 2018, the growth in terms of the export prices for cottonseed remained at a lower figure.

Over the period under review, cottonseed imports continue to indicate an abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. In that year, cottonseed imports attained their peak of X tonnes. From 2014 to 2018, the growth of cottonseed imports failed to regain its momentum.

In value terms, cottonseed imports stood at $X in 2018. Over the period under review, cottonseed imports continue to indicate remarkable growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of X% year-to-year. In that year, cottonseed imports reached their peak and are likely to continue its growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

China was the largest importer of cottonseed in the world, with the volume of imports finishing at X tonnes, which was near X% of total imports in 2018. South Korea (X tonnes) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Mexico (X tonnes), Italy (X tonnes), Saudi Arabia (X tonnes) and Japan (X tonnes). All these countries together occupied approx. X% share of total imports. South Africa (X tonnes) occupied a minor share of total imports.

China was also the fastest-growing in terms of the cottonseed imports, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007 to 2018. At the same time, Saudi Arabia (+X%) and South Korea (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Italy experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Japan (-X%), Mexico (-X%) and South Africa (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (+X p.p.), Saudi Arabia (+X p.p.) and South Korea (+X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global imports, while Japan, South Africa and Mexico saw its share reduced by -X%, -X% and -X% from 2007 to 2018, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported cottonseed into Kyrgyzstan, comprising X% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Mexico ($X), with a X% share of global imports. It was followed by Italy, with a X% share.

In China, cottonseed imports increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2007-2018. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Mexico (-X% per year) and Italy (+X% per year).
