Exports by Country

China (X tonnes) was the main destination for honey exports from Kazakhstan, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, honey exports to China exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the United Arab Emirates (X tonnes), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Uzbekistan (X tonnes), with a X% share.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the key foreign market for honey exports from Kazakhstan, comprising X% of total honey exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Kyrgyzstan ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Saudi Arabia, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual growth rate of value to China stood at +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kyrgyzstan (+X% per year) and Saudi Arabia (+X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The average honey export price stood at $X per tonne in 2018, waning by -X% against the previous year. Overall, the honey export price, however, continues to indicate a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008 an increase of X% year-to-year. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2018, export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Kyrgyzstan ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Uzbekistan ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Honey Imports

Imports into Kazakhstan

In 2018, the imports of honey into Kazakhstan totaled X tonnes, coming down by -X% against the previous year. Overall, honey imports, however, continue to indicate prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2011 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2018, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, honey imports amounted to $X in 2018. In general, honey imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2018, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Uzbekistan (X tonnes), Russia (X tonnes) and Moldova (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of honey imports to Kazakhstan, with a combined X% share of total imports. Germany, Estonia and the United Arab Emirates lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of imports, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Estonia, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest honey suppliers to Kazakhstan were Russia ($X), Uzbekistan ($X) and Moldova ($X), together comprising X% of total imports. These countries were followed by Estonia, Germany and the United Arab Emirates, which together accounted for a further X the main suppliers, Estonia recorded the highest growth rate of imports, over the last eleven-year period, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The average honey import price stood at $X per tonne in 2018, shrinking by -X% against the previous year. In general, the honey import price continues to indicate a noticeable slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of X% y-o-y. The import price peaked at $X per tonne in 2010; however, from 2011 to 2018, import prices failed to regain their momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Moldova ($X per tonne), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Moldova, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
