Milk Market Size in Iran

The revenue of the milk market in Iran amounted to $X in 2018, waning by -X% against the previous year. In 2018, the amount of milk exported from Iran stood at X tonnes, jumping by X% against the previous year. Overall, milk exports continue to indicate a skyrocketing increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. In that year, milk exports attained their peak and are likely to continue its growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, milk exports amounted to $X in 2018. Over the period under review, milk exports continue to indicate an outstanding expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Exports by Country

Saudi Arabia (X tonnes) was the main destination for milk exports from Iran, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, milk exports to Saudi Arabia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Kuwait (X tonnes), eightfold. Azerbaijan (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual growth rate of volume to Saudi Arabia totaled +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kuwait (+X% per year) and Azerbaijan (+X% per year).

In value terms, the largest markets for milk exported from Iran were Kyrgyzstan ($X), Saudi Arabia ($X) and Tajikistan ($X), together comprising X% of total exports. These countries were followed by Azerbaijan, Kuwait, Russia and Malaysia, which together accounted for a further X (+X% per year) recorded the highest growth rate of exports, among the main countries of destination over the last eleven-year period, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2018, the average milk export price amounted to $X per tonne, falling by -X% against the previous year. In general, the milk export price, however, continues to indicate a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 an increase of X% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2017, and then declined slightly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Kyrgyzstan ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Saudi Arabia ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kyrgyzstan, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Milk Imports

Imports into Iran

In 2018, the amount of milk imported into Iran totaled X tonnes, falling by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, milk imports continue to indicate a drastic drop. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2012 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. In that year, milk imports attained their peak of X tonnes. From 2013 to 2018, the growth of milk imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, milk imports amounted to $X in 2018. Overall, milk imports continue to indicate an abrupt setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2012 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2018, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

The United Arab Emirates (X tonnes), Brazil (X tonnes) and Turkey (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of milk imports to Iran, together accounting for X% of total imports. Kuwait, Pakistan, Oman and Ukraine lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of imports, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Ukraine, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constituted the largest supplier of milk to Iran, comprising X% of total milk imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Kuwait ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Turkey, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual growth rate of value from the United Arab Emirates amounted to -X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Kuwait (+X% per year) and Turkey (-X% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2018, the average milk import price amounted to $X per tonne, growing by X% against the previous year. Overall, the milk import price, however, continues to indicate a temperate reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average import prices for milk reached their peak figure at $X per tonne in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, import prices failed to regain their momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was Kuwait ($X per tonne), while the price for Brazil ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
