Oil Crops Market Size in India

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Exports peaked at X tonnes in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2018, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, oil crops exports stood at $X in 2018. In general, oil crops exports continue to indicate a drastic deduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2010 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, oil crops exports reached their maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2018, exports failed to regain their momentum.

Exports by Country

Indonesia (X tonnes) was the main destination for oil crops exports from India, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, oil crops exports to Indonesia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Nepal (X tonnes), threefold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Pakistan (X tonnes), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual growth rate of volume to Indonesia stood at +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Nepal (+X% per year) and Pakistan (-X% per year).

In value terms, Indonesia ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for oil crops exports from India, comprising X% of total oil crops exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Nepal ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by the Philippines, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Indonesia was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Nepal (+X% per year) and the Philippines (-X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The average oil crops export price stood at $X per tonne in 2018, reducing by -X% against the previous year. Overall, the oil crops export price continues to indicate a moderate decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 when the average export price increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, the average export prices for oil crops (primary) reached their maximum at $X per tonne in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2018, export prices remained at a lower figure.

In 2018, Turkey (X tonnes) constituted the largest oil crops supplier to India, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, oil crops imports from Turkey exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Moldova (X tonnes), fourfold. Russia (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.

Over the period under review, the import price indicated a resilient expansion from 2007 to 2018: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last eleven years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of X% year-to-year. In that year, the average import prices for oil crops (primary) attained their peak level and is likely to continue its growth in the immediate term.
