Moulds For Metal Market Size in Hungary

The Hungarian moulds for metal market declined remarkably to $X in 2022, waning by -23.2% against the previous year. Overall, consumption saw a noticeable decrease. Moulds for metal consumption peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, consumption remained at a lower figure.

Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, moulds for metal exports surged to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 39% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Germany (X tons) was the main destination for moulds for metal exports from Hungary, with a 71% share of total exports. Moreover, moulds for metal exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Austria (X tons), tenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Serbia (X tons), with a 5% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Germany amounted to -2.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Austria (+78.1% per year) and Serbia (+1.1% per year).

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for moulds for metals exports from Hungary, comprising 60% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Serbia ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Austria, with a 5.8% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Germany stood at +7.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Serbia (+7.5% per year) and Austria (+50.3% per year).

In 2022, the average moulds for metal export price amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -18.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded measured growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 103% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then reduced notably in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Moldova ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into Hungary

For the third consecutive year, Hungary recorded growth in supplies from abroad of moulds for metals, which increased by 6.1% to X tons in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +45.6% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 63% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, moulds for metal imports reduced modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a slight decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 18% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Italy (X tons), Germany (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main suppliers of moulds for metal imports to Hungary, together accounting for 66% of total imports. China, South Korea, Serbia, the Czech Republic, Romania, Ukraine, Turkey and Austria lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 30%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Romania (with a CAGR of +44.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest moulds for metal suppliers to Hungary were Germany ($X), China ($X) and Italy ($X), with a combined 56% share of total imports. In 2022, the average moulds for metal import price amounted to $X per ton, with a decrease of -7.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a perceptible shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 40%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the price for Romania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
