In 2023, purchases abroad of cobalt decreased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports saw a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of X%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.

The Netherlands (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by Germany (X%), Spain (X%), France (X%) and Ireland (X%). Austria (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
