Cote d'Ivoire (X tons), Senegal (X tons) and Ghana (X tons) represented roughly X% of total exports in 2022. Benin (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

The purchases of the ten major importers of plastic containers, namely Ghana, Senegal, Guinea, Nigeria, Liberia, Niger, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, Cote d'Ivoire and Mali, represented more than two-thirds of total import. Gambia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Niger (with a CAGR of X%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest plastic container importing markets in ECOWAS were Ghana ($X), Nigeria ($X) and Senegal ($X), together accounting for X% of total imports. Guinea, Cote d'Ivoire, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Gambia and Burkina Faso lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

Niger, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in ECOWAS stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by X% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a pronounced contraction.
