Crane Market Size in Eastern Europe

In 2022, the East European crane market decreased by X% to $X, falling for the third year in a row after two years of growth. In general, consumption recorded a noticeable curtailment. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, consumption failed to regain momentum.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, crane exports declined rapidly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Poland was the major exporting country with an export of around X units, which amounted to X% of total exports. Slovakia (X units) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Estonia (X units), the Czech Republic (X units) and Russia (X units). All these countries together took near X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Hungary (X units), Lithuania (X units) and Romania (X units) - together made up X% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to crane exports from Poland stood at X%. At the same time, Slovakia (X%), the Czech Republic (X%) and Russia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Slovakia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Estonia and Hungary experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2021, and then dropped significantly in the following year.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then declined rapidly in the following year.

Russia was the main importer of derricks, cranes, mobile lifting frames, straddle carriers and work trucks fitted with a crane in Eastern Europe, with the volume of imports reaching X units, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Poland (X units), Romania (X units) and the Czech Republic (X units), together generating a X% share of total imports. Ukraine (X units), Hungary (X units), Belarus (X units) and Lithuania (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
