The East European crabs, not frozen market declined slightly to $X in 2022, flattening at the previous year. In general, consumption, however, recorded buoyant growth. In value terms, crabs, not frozen exports skyrocketed to $X in 2019. Overall, exports, however, showed a sharp slump. The level of export peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2019, the exports failed to regain momentum.

The shipments of the one major exporters of crabs, not frozen, namely Romania, represented more than two-thirds of total export.

Romania experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of crabs, not frozen. From 2012 to 2019, the share of Romania increased by +99 percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 479% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, crabs, not frozen imports reduced to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a dramatic curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 471% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2013; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.

The purchases of the one major importers of crabs, not frozen, namely Belarus, represented more than two-thirds of total import.

Belarus was also the fastest-growing in terms of the crabs, not frozen imports, with a CAGR of -4.7% from 2012 to 2022.
