Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Germany (X kg) was the main destination for optical fiber and bundle exports from Croatia, accounting for a 43% share of total exports. Moreover, optical fiber and bundle exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Slovenia (X kg), threefold. Serbia (X kg) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 13% share.
From 2013 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Germany stood at +29.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Slovenia (+34.6% per year) and Serbia (+38.3% per year).
In value terms, the largest markets for optical fiber and bundle exported from Croatia were Germany ($X), Slovenia ($X) and Serbia ($X), together comprising 67% of total exports.
In terms of the main countries of destination, Germany, with a CAGR of +81.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average optical fiber and bundle export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price posted a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by 640% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was North Macedonia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2013 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+39.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Croatia
In 2021, optical fiber and bundle imports into Croatia skyrocketed to X tons, growing by 19% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports saw a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 5,703% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, optical fiber and bundle imports fell dramatically to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a slight contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 168% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of optical fiber and bundle to Croatia, with a 42% share of total imports. Moreover, optical fiber and bundle imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (X kg), fourfold. Japan (X kg) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Germany totaled +32.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (+78.1% per year) and Japan (+44.9% per year).
In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of optical fiber and bundle to Croatia, comprising 52% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Netherlands ($X), with a 7.8% share of total imports. It was followed by Japan, with a 4.7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Germany amounted to +20.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (+119.5% per year) and Japan (+15.7% per year).

The average optical fiber and bundle import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, falling by -40% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 1,272% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Denmark ($X per ton), while the price for Belgium ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
