The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 3,039% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Germany (X kg) was the main destination for optical fiber and bundle exports from Croatia, accounting for a 43% share of total exports. Moreover, optical fiber and bundle exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Slovenia (X kg), threefold. In 2021, optical fiber and bundle imports into Croatia skyrocketed to X tons, growing by 19% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports saw a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 5,703% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
