The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. In that year, corrugated paper exports reached their peak of $X. From 2015 to 2018, the growth of corrugated paper exports failed to regain its momentum.

Exports by Country

Bosnia and Herzegovina (X tonnes) was the main destination for corrugated paper exports from Croatia, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, corrugated paper exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Slovenia (X tonnes), twofold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Hungary (X tonnes), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual growth rate of volume to Bosnia and Herzegovina totaled +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Slovenia (+X% per year) and Hungary (-X% per year).

From 2009 to 2018, the growth in terms of the average export prices for corrugated paper and paperboard remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2018, the countries with the highest prices were Serbia ($X per tonne) and Slovenia ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Hungary ($X per tonne) and Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X per tonne) were amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Serbia, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2018, the amount of corrugated paper and paperboard imported into Croatia amounted to X tonnes, reducing by -X% against the previous year. In general, corrugated paper imports continue to indicate a deep deduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, corrugated paper imports reached their maximum at X tonnes in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2018, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, corrugated paper imports stood at $X in 2018. In general, corrugated paper imports continue to indicate a deep downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Imports peaked at $X in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2018, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2018, Bosnia and Herzegovina (X tonnes) constituted the largest corrugated paper supplier to Croatia, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, corrugated paper imports from Bosnia and Herzegovina exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Serbia (X tonnes), twofold. Slovenia (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual growth rate of volume from Bosnia and Herzegovina totaled -X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Serbia (+X% per year) and Slovenia (-X% per year).

In value terms, the largest corrugated paper suppliers to Croatia were Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X), Slovenia ($X) and Serbia ($X), together comprising X% of total imports. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per tonne), while the price for Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
