Fructose Market Size in Colombia

The revenue of the fructose market in Colombia amounted to $X in 2018, reducing by -X% against the previous year. Export Prices by Country

In 2018, the average fructose export price amounted to $X per tonne, increasing by X% against the previous year. In general, the export price indicated a significant expansion from 2007 to 2018: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last eleven-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2018 figures, fructose export price increased by +X% against 2016 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2018, export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Venezuela ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Kuwait ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into Colombia

In 2018, approx. X tonnes of fructose and fructose syrup were imported into Colombia; falling by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, fructose imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2010 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, fructose imports attained their maximum at X tonnes in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2018, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The third position in this ranking was occupied by Mexico (X tonnes), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China amounted to +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the U.S. (-X% per year) and Mexico (+X% per year).

In value terms, the largest fructose suppliers to Colombia were China ($X), the U.S. ($X) and Mexico ($X), with a combined X% share of total imports.
