Milk Market Size in Chile

In value terms, milk exports stood at $X in 2018. In general, milk exports continue to indicate moderate growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. In that year, milk exports reached their peak of $X. From 2015 to 2018, the growth of milk exports failed to regain its momentum.

Exports by Country

Venezuela (X tonnes), China (X tonnes) and the U.S. (X tonnes) were the main destinations of milk exports from Chile, together accounting for X% of total exports. These countries were followed by Peru and Panama, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of exports, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Peru (+X% per year), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Peru ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to the U.S. ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Panama, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2018, the amount of milk imported into Chile stood at X tonnes, going down by -X% against the previous year. Overall, milk imports continue to indicate a drastic deduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, imports remained at a lower figure.
