In 2021, after two years of decline, there was growth in the Central Asian molybdenum market, when its value increased by X% to $X. Over the period under review, consumption, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X. Production By Country in Central Asia
Mongolia (X tonnes) remains the largest molybdenum producing country in Central Asia, accounting for X% of total volume. Moreover, molybdenum production in Mongolia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest producer, Uzbekistan (X tonnes), fivefold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume in Mongolia was relatively modest.

In 2021, exports of molybdenum in Central Asia shrank to X tonnes, declining by -X% against the previous year's figure. Overall, exports recorded a significant decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tonnes in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, molybdenum exports declined dramatically to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports saw a sharp descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

The export price in Central Asia stood at $X per tonne in 2021, declining by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a perceptible setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the export price increased by X%. The level of export peaked at $X per tonne in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Uzbekistan.
From 2012 to 2021, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Uzbekistan amounted to -X% per year.

Imports in Central Asia
In 2021, supplies from abroad of molybdenum was finally on the rise to reach X tonnes after three years of decline. In general, imports, however, recorded a dramatic descent. The volume of import peaked at X tonnes in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, molybdenum imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a dramatic setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the i in Central Asia amounted to $X per tonne, waning by -X% against the previous year. Import price indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, molybdenum import price increased by +X% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the import price increased by X%. The level of import peaked at $X per tonne in 2020, and then contracted in the following year.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Kyrgyzstan ($X per tonne), while Kazakhstan stood at $X per tonne.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+X%).
