Australia (X kg) was the main destination for clutch exports from Cameroon, with a 76% share of total exports. Moreover, clutch exports to Australia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Benin (X kg), sevenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by South Africa (X kg), with a 2.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Australia totaled -20.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Benin (-34.3% per year) and South Africa (-32.1% per year).

In value terms, Australia ($X) remains the key foreign market for clutches exports from Cameroon, comprising 87% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Armenia ($X), with an 8.1% share of total exports. It was followed by Benin, with a 3.6% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Australia totaled -3.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Armenia (0.0% per year) and Benin (-45.2% per year).

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average export price increased by 32%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Armenia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Australia (+21.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, approx. X tons of clutches were imported into Cameroon; which is down by -23.9% on 2021 figures. In general, total imports indicated slight growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +48.0% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 95% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, clutch imports fell to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 55%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

China (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of clutch imports to Cameroon, with a combined 81% share of total imports. Turkey, Taiwan (Chinese), North Macedonia, Norway, Japan and France lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 11%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Norway (with a CAGR of +52.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, China ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Germany ($X) appeared to be the largest clutch suppliers to Cameroon, with a combined 61% share of total imports. Norway, Japan, Turkey, North Macedonia, France and Taiwan (Chinese) lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 17%.

In 2022, the average clutch import price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 15% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a perceptible setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 45% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($X per ton), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+13.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
