Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, refined copper imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports saw significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 156% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of refined copper to Austria, accounting for a 77% share of total imports. Moreover, refined copper imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X tons), sixfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Poland (X tons), with a 2.9% share.
