The volume of export peaked at X cubic meters in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, exports of wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates reduced modestly to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw buoyant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
In 2022, Vietnam (X cubic meters) was the major exporter of wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates, constituting X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Malaysia (X cubic meters), achieving an X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Thailand (X cubic meters) and Indonesia (X cubic meters) - together made up X% of total exports.
Vietnam was also the fastest-growing in terms of the wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Thailand (X%), Malaysia (X%) and Indonesia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Vietnam (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Indonesia and Malaysia saw its share reduced by X% and X% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

After two years of growth, overseas purchases of wood residues, pellets and other agglomerates decreased by X% to X cubic meters in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X cubic meters in 2021, and then shrank rapidly in the following year.
