In 2021, after four years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of polyethylene in primary forms, when their volume decreased by -X% to X tons. Total imports indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Moreover, Pakistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +X% from 2012-2021. India experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Vietnam (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (+X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Vietnam and India saw its share reduced by -X% and -X% from 2012 to 2021, respectively.
