Indonesia (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total production with a X% share.

As a result, exports attained the peak of X tonnes. from 2012 to 2020, the growth exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, cereal flour exports declined notably to $X in 2020. Total exports indicated a noticeable increase from 2007 to 2020: its value decreased at an average annual rate of -X% over the last thirteen-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. As a result, exports attained the peak of $X. from 2012 to 2020, the growth exports failed to regain the momentum.

In 2020, India (X tonnes), distantly followed by China (X tonnes), Thailand (X tonnes), Japan (X tonnes), Viet Nam (X tonnes), Sri Lanka (X tonnes), Singapore (X tonnes) and Malaysia (X tonnes) represented the key exporters of cereal flours, together mixing up X% of total exports.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per tonne), while China ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

In 2020, purchases abroad of cereal flours decreased by -X% to X tonnes, falling for the second consecutive year after four years of growth. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tonnes in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, cereal flour imports dropped sharply to $X in 2020. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2020; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

Afghanistan was the main importing country with an import of around X tonnes, which accounted for X% of total imports. China (X tonnes) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Thailand (X tonnes), Hong Kong SAR (X tonnes), Democratic People's Republic of Korea (X tonnes), Malaysia (X tonnes) and Singapore (X tonnes). All these countries together occupied approx. X% share of total imports. The following importers - Australia (X tonnes), the Philippines (X tonnes), Indonesia (X tonnes) and Papua New Guinea (X tonnes) - together made up X% of total imports.

Imports into Afghanistan increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2020. At the same time, Papua New Guinea (+X%), China (+X%), Australia (+X%), Malaysia (+X%) and Singapore (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Papua New Guinea emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2020. Thailand experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Hong Kong SAR (-X%), Democratic People's Republic of Korea (-X%), the Philippines (-X%) and Indonesia (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
