In value terms, lentil exports surged to $X in 2023. Overall, exports posted a noticeable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2023 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Egypt was the largest exporter of lentils in Africa, with the volume of exports resulting at X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2023. It was distantly followed by Tanzania (X tons), mixing up a X% share of total exports. Cameroon (X tons), Sudan (X tons), Nigeria (X tons), Malawi (X tons) and Uganda (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2023, average annual rates of growth with regard to lentil exports from Egypt stood at X%. At the same time, Tanzania (X%), Cameroon (X%), Nigeria (X%) and Uganda (X%) displayed positive paces of growth.
