Senegal was the largest exporting country with an export of about X tonnes, which accounted for X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Gambia (X tonnes), constituting a X% share of total exports. Togo (X tonnes) held a minor share of total exports.

Exports from Senegal decreased at an average annual rate of -X% from 2007 to 2020. Togo (-X%) and Gambia (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Gambia (+X p.p.) and Togo (+X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Senegal saw its share reduced by -X% from 2007 to 2020, respectively.

In value terms, Senegal ($X) remains the largest crude groundnut oil supplier in Africa, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Gambia ($X), with a X% share of total exports.

In Senegal, crude groundnut oil exports declined by an average annual rate of -X% over the period from 2007-2020. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Gambia (+X% per year) and Togo (-X% per year).

The volume of import peaked at X tonnes in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, imports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, crude groundnut oil imports skyrocketed to $X in 2020. In general, imports, however, saw a deep slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.
