Tanzania (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Uganda was also the fastest-growing in terms of the chlorosulphuric acid imports, with a CAGR of +89.7% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Cameroon (+53.8%), Mali (+39.9%), Tanzania (+29.0%), Mozambique (+21.9%), Zambia (+18.7%) and Democratic Republic of the Congo (+5.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, the largest chlorosulphuric acid importing markets in Africa were Uganda ($X), Cameroon ($X) and Mali ($X), together accounting for 44% of total imports.

Uganda, with a CAGR of +69.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Africa stood at $X per ton in 2022, approximately reflecting the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the import price increased by 79% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Cameroon ($X per ton), while Uganda ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mozambique (+7.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
