The average zinc dust import price stood at $4,347 per ton in 2022, jumping by 23% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.9%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average import price increased by 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Saudi Arabia ($5,466 per ton) and Iran ($5,043 per ton), while the price for Germany ($4,134 per ton) and Belgium ($4,713 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (+6.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Zinc Dust Imports in Ukraine

After three years of growth, overseas purchases of zinc dusts decreased by -72.6% to 28 tons in 2022. Overall, imports faced a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 60% against the previous year.

In value terms, zinc dust imports reduced remarkably to $121K in 2022. In general, imports showed a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 46%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $360K, and then dropped notably in the following year.
