Yoghurt Price in the UK (CIF) - 2021

In December 2021, the average yoghurt import price amounted to $1,463 per ton, rising by 4.9% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2021 an increase of 14% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,068 per ton in December 2020; however, from January 2021 to December 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Ireland ($3,124 per ton), while the price for Germany ($922 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Yoghurt Price in the UK (FOB) - 2021

The average yoghurt export price stood at $3,144 per ton in December 2021, growing by 4.5% against the previous month. Over the period from December 2020 to December 2021, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.5%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2021 an increase of 33% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $3,699 per ton in July 2021; however, from August 2021 to December 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($7,313 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ireland ($1,936 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+13.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Yoghurt Imports in the UK

After three years of growth, overseas purchases of yoghurt decreased by -3.8% to 274K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 17%.

In value terms, yoghurt imports shrank slightly to $446M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +6.1% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 16% against the previous year.

Yoghurt Exports in the UK

In 2022, overseas shipments of yoghurt increased by 75% to 19K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, faced a deep slump.

In value terms, yoghurt exports skyrocketed to $55M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a abrupt decline.
