Yoghurt Price in Germany (FOB) - 2021
In November 2021, the average yoghurt export price amounted to $1,524 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2020 an increase of 2.5% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1,556 per ton in June 2021; however, from July 2021 to November 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In November 2021, the countries with the highest prices were Poland ($1,877 per ton) and Portugal ($1,751 per ton), while the average price for exports to Sweden ($1,374 per ton) and France ($1,451 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From November 2020 to November 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+0.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Yoghurt Price in Germany (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average yoghurt import price amounted to $1,392 per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a slight decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 11%. The import price peaked at $1,786 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($4,000 per ton), while the price for Belgium ($1,075 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+7.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Yoghurt Exports in Germany
In 2022, approx. 455K tons of yoghurt were exported from Germany; increasing by 3.1% on 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern.
In value terms, yoghurt exports contracted slightly to $669M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 3.8% against the previous year.

Yoghurt Imports in Germany
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was decline in supplies from abroad of yoghurt, when their volume decreased by -4.1% to 110K tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 9%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 114K tons, and then declined slightly in the following year.
In value terms, yoghurt imports contracted modestly to $153M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 9.8%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $160M, and then contracted slightly in the following year.
