Wheat Gluten Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2023
In September 2023, the average wheat gluten import price amounted to $2,071 per ton, increasing by 8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 10% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,264 per ton. From May 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($3,300 per ton), while the price for Kazakhstan ($1,757 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+2.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Wheat Gluten Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2023
The average wheat gluten export price stood at $2,128 per ton in September 2023, reducing by -32% against the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a mild slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 an increase of 63% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $3,438 per ton. From March 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Cyprus ($3,539 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kazakhstan ($1,751 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cyprus (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Wheat Gluten Imports in Turkey
For the fourth year in a row, Turkey recorded growth in supplies from abroad of wheat gluten, which increased by 49% to 31K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 75%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, wheat gluten imports surged to $59M in 2022. In general, imports saw a significant increase. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
