Wheat Bran Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023

The average wheat bran export price stood at $309 per ton in June 2023, growing by 2.1% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a mild decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in September 2022 when the average export price increased by 108% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $374 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to June 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In June 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Latvia ($290 per ton) and Finland ($288 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ireland ($234 per ton) and Germany ($272 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Latvia (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Wheat Bran Price in Poland (CIF) - 2022

The average wheat bran import price stood at $234 per ton in 2022, jumping by 28% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, wheat bran import price increased by +66.0% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 31%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Lithuania ($238 per ton) and the Czech Republic ($224 per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($163 per ton) and Hungary ($165 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Wheat Bran Exports in Poland

In 2022, shipments abroad of wheat bran decreased by -9.3% to 209K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, total exports indicated a resilient increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +17.9% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +64.1% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 51% against the previous year.

In value terms, wheat bran exports stood at $60M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 42%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
