Unwrought Tin Alloys Price in Hong Kong SAR (FOB) - 2022

The average unwrought tin alloys export price stood at $23,749 per ton in 2022, growing by 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated noticeable growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, unwrought tin alloys export price decreased by -41.4% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 49%. The export price peaked at $40,516 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($96,610 per ton), while the average price for exports to China stood at $20,029 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Taiwan (Chinese) (+31.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Unwrought Tin Alloys Price in Hong Kong SAR (CIF) - 2022

The average unwrought tin alloys import price stood at $35,804 per ton in 2022, surging by 22% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, unwrought tin alloys import price increased by +88.5% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 55%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $37,762 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($52,960 per ton), while the price for China ($24,000 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+97.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Unwrought Tin Alloys Exports in Hong Kong SAR

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of unwrought tin alloys, when their volume decreased by -91.7% to 6.2 tons. Over the period under review, exports showed a sharp contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 189%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 75 tons, and then contracted sharply in the following year.

In value terms, unwrought tin alloys exports declined significantly to $147K in 2022. In general, exports faced a precipitous setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 92%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $1.4M, and then dropped notably in the following year.
