Umbrella Price in Thailand (CIF) - 2023
The average umbrella import price stood at $1.3 per unit in September 2023, surging by 12% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a measured increase from September 2022 to September 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.9% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, umbrella import price increased by +77.2% against June 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 46% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $1.5 per unit in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was China ($1.3 per unit), while the price for Japan amounted to $988 per thousand units.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+3.8%).

In 2022, the average umbrella export price amounted to $7.8 per unit, increasing by 26% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, umbrella export price increased by +47.1% against 2016 indices. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($39 per unit), while the average price for exports to Germany ($0.6 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Myanmar (+21.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Umbrella Imports in Thailand
In 2022, imports of umbrellas into Thailand was estimated at 12M units, picking up by 9.8% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep setback. Imports peaked at 14M units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
