The average umbrella import price stood at $529 per thousand units in July 2023, surging by 35% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 an increase of 41% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1.1 per unit. From November 2022 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Cambodia ($1.8 per unit), while the price for China totaled $459 per thousand units.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (-0.9%).

The average umbrella export price stood at $4.2 per unit in 2022, surging by 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, umbrella export price increased by +31.5% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 84%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $4.6 per unit. From 2019 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($6.1 per unit), while the average price for exports to Mali ($0.5 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bhutan (+22.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +78.9% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 53%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
