Twine and Cordage Price in Denmark (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average twine and cordage import price amounted to $4,037 per ton, reducing by -10.3% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 14% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $6,052 per ton. From March 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($9,359 per ton), while the price for India ($1,775 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Portugal (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Twine and Cordage Price in Denmark (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average twine and cordage export price amounted to $10,617 per ton, rising by 18% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 27% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $12,464 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($18,890 per ton), while the average price for exports to Iceland ($4,004 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+12.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Twine and Cordage Imports in Denmark
In 2022, supplies from abroad of twine, cordage, rope and cables decreased by -3.7% to 7.5K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.1% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 20% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 7.8K tons, and then fell modestly in the following year.
In value terms, twine and cordage imports fell to $38M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +7.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 22%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $40M, and then dropped in the following year.
