Truck Price in Portugal (FOB) - 2023
The average truck export price stood at $37,382 per unit in June 2023, growing by 5.6% against the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 when the average export price increased by 22% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum in June 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($62,764 per unit), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($23,651 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Truck Price in Portugal (CIF) - 2023
The average truck import price stood at $28,458 per unit in June 2023, growing by 3.2% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 25% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $28,595 per unit; afterwards, it flattened through to June 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($64,048 per unit), while the price for France ($15,794 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Truck Exports in Portugal
In 2022, the amount of trucks exported from Portugal amounted to 34K units, growing by 3.1% compared with 2021 figures. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 5.1%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at 35K units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, truck exports dropped modestly to $1.1B in 2022. In general, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 14%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $1.1B, and then dropped in the following year.

Truck Imports in Portugal
In 2022, truck imports into Portugal fell to 21K units, waning by -13.5% on 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 8.8%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at 28K units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
