In 2022, overseas shipments of tobacco refuses were finally on the rise to reach 93 tons after two years of decline. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a deep setback.

In value terms, tobacco refuse exports declined to $694K in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years.
