Titanium Price in the United States (CIF) - 2023

In August 2023, the average titanium import price amounted to $12,314 per ton, approximately equating the previous month. Over the period from August 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in September 2022 when the average import price increased by 20% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $12,893 per ton. From October 2022 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($11,477 per ton), while the price for Japan ($10,789 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Saudi Arabia (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Titanium Price in the United States (FOB) - 2023

The average titanium export price stood at $22,561 per ton in August 2023, rising by 3.6% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2022 when the average export price increased by 44% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $29,394 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to August 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Italy ($26,529 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mexico ($8,061 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada (+11.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Titanium Imports in the United States

In 2022, purchases abroad of titanium sponge, powders, ingots and slabs increased by 90% to 30K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced reduction.

In value terms, titanium imports surged to $326M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep downturn.

Titanium Exports in the United States

In 2022, overseas shipments of titanium sponge, powders, ingots and slabs were finally on the rise to reach 5.2K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a dramatic contraction.

In value terms, titanium exports skyrocketed to $90M in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded a dramatic slump.
