Titanium Dioxide Pigments Price in Germany (FOB) - 2023

The average titanium dioxide pigments export price stood at $4,165 per ton in July 2023, remaining constant against the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 12% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $4,542 per ton. From December 2022 to July 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($6,359 per ton), while the average price for exports to Argentina ($2,904 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In July 2023, the average titanium dioxide pigments import price amounted to $3,338 per ton, rising by 1.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 5.1% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $3,656 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to July 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($4,165 per ton), while the price for the UK ($2,484 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Titanium Dioxide Pigments Exports in Germany

In 2022, titanium dioxide pigments exports from Germany reduced rapidly to 279K tons, waning by -22.5% compared with 2021 figures. Overall, exports continue to indicate a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 2.4%.

In value terms, titanium dioxide pigments exports shrank modestly to $1.2B in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 10% against the previous year.

Overall, imports continue to indicate a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 4.2% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 291K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, titanium dioxide pigments imports amounted to $871M in 2022.
