Titanium Dioxide Pigments Price in Brazil (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average titanium dioxide pigments import price amounted to $3,520 per ton, with an increase of 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 29% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $3,667 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Germany ($4,027 per ton) and the UK ($3,844 per ton), while the price for China ($3,409 per ton) and Mexico ($3,476 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hong Kong SAR (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Titanium Dioxide Pigments Price in Brazil (FOB) - 2023

In September 2023, the average titanium dioxide pigments export price amounted to $3,139 per ton, dropping by -7.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a mild slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 29% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $3,986 per ton. From April 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Paraguay ($6,845 per ton), while the average price for exports to El Salvador ($1,645 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Nigeria (+8.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Titanium Dioxide Pigments Imports in Brazil

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of titanium dioxide pigments and colouring preparations, when their volume decreased by -7.5% to 129K tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 10% against the previous year.

In value terms, titanium dioxide pigments imports rose notably to $455M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +10.9% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 32%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
