Telecommunications Instrument Price in the Netherlands (CIF) - 2022
The average telecommunications instrument import price stood at $606 per unit in 2022, jumping by 29% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a strong expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the average import price increased by 103%. The import price peaked at $632 per unit in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($1,267 per unit), while the price for Hong Kong SAR ($109 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Canada (+14.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Telecommunications Instrument Price in the Netherlands (FOB) - 2023
The average telecommunications instrument export price stood at $814 per unit in July 2023, jumping by 33% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a resilient increase from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +5.0% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, telecommunications instrument export price increased by +61.5% against May 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 48% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $818 per unit in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($2,257 per unit), while the average price for exports to Slovenia ($307 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ireland (+9.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Telecommunications Instrument Imports in the Netherlands
After three years of growth, purchases abroad of telecommunications instruments decreased by -65.5% to 65K units in 2022. In general, imports faced a significant decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 47%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 189K units, and then reduced markedly in the following year.
In value terms, telecommunications instrument imports shrank sharply to $40M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a deep slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $89M in 2021, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.
