Talc and Steatite Price in Mexico (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average talc and steatite import price amounted to $575 per ton, with an increase of 18% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +10.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, talc and steatite import price increased by +161.3% against 2012 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 30%. The average talc and steatite export price stood at $625 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 6.1% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 50% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $741 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
