Talc and Steatite Price in Iran (CIF) - 2022

The average talc and steatite import price stood at $553 per ton in 2022, picking up by 25% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, talc and steatite import price decreased by -21.0% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 59% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $699 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($621 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($133 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Pakistan (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Talc and Steatite Price in Iran (FOB) - 2022

The average talc and steatite export price stood at $146 per ton in 2022, declining by -18.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a noticeable reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the average export price increased by 38% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $259 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was India ($689 per ton), while the average price for exports to Cote d'Ivoire ($57 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+406.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Talc and Steatite Imports in Iran

Talc and steatite imports into Iran reduced notably to 670 tons in 2022, dropping by -29.3% compared with 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a abrupt setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 107% against the previous year.
