Table Linen Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2023

The average table linen export price stood at $7,609 per ton in September 2023, reducing by -3.1% against the previous month. Overall, the export price recorded a mild slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 18% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $8,875 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to September 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($16,751 per ton), while the average price for exports to Iraq ($2,975 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In September 2023, the average table linen import price amounted to $14,160 per ton, dropping by -24.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 an increase of 149% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $18,824 per ton in August 2023, and then declined dramatically in the following month.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was China ($23,366 per ton), while the price for Bangladesh ($7,858 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, approx. 5.2K tons of table linen, knitted or crocheted were exported from Turkey; which is down by -16.4% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 28%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 6.2K tons, and then shrank markedly in the following year.

In value terms, table linen exports fell modestly to $39M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 34% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $40M, and then contracted modestly in the following year.

Table Linen Imports in Turkey

For the third consecutive year, Turkey recorded decline in overseas purchases of table linen, knitted or crocheted, which decreased by -14.9% to 119 tons in 2022. Overall, imports faced a abrupt slump. The smallest decline of -9.8% was in 2021.

In value terms, table linen imports dropped to $1.4M in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 2.4%.
