In 2022, the average swine; live import price amounted to $1,799 per unit, falling by -9.6% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded resilient growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 74% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $2,610 per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($5,741 per unit), while the price for the United States ($1,284 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
