Sweet Biscuit Price in Saudi Arabia (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average sweet biscuit import price amounted to $3,400 per ton, which is down by -2.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a mild contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 8%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $4,061 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($5,270 per ton), while the price for Bangladesh ($1,158 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+4.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Sweet Biscuit Price in Saudi Arabia (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average sweet biscuit export price amounted to $1,750 per ton, reducing by -6% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.9%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $1,862 per ton in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kuwait ($4,441 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mauritania ($950 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Oman (+22.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Sweet Biscuit Imports in Saudi Arabia

In 2022, purchases abroad of sweet biscuits increased by 6.8% to 52K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a pronounced decline.

In value terms, sweet biscuit imports stood at $177M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a noticeable setback.
